Wikipedia content is unashamedly liberal in viewpoint. This is because the vast majority of people who choose to edit Wikipedia are people who feel passionately about liberal causes, much like the attitude of people who choose journalism as a profession.

Although some valiant efforts are made to appear to be politically neutral, due to the overwhelming numbers of entries in the database, these efforts largely fail.

Notice the article on Hillary Clinton, for example. Although most criticisms of her views and actions are documented, there is considerable effort taken to rebut the allegation or explain the behavior.

No such attempt is made for Congressman Joe Barton's page. His views are presented as unenlightened and prehistoric (because the writer disagrees so vehemently with Mr. Barton). The page on Karl Rove is much longer than many more deserving personalities in history, as each criticism and allegation against him is listed in painstaking detail. Interestingly, each member of Bill Clinton's team of advisors receives barely any coverage at all.

I don't remember well if the 1959 set of World Book encyclopedias from my youth had an outright bias, but I rather doubt it.
