Wijnegem is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Wijnegem proper. On January 1, 2006 Wijnegem had a total population of 8,816. The total area is 7.86 km² which gives a population density of 1,122 inhabitants per km².
