Is that the WDCT protocol that Uniden does? Does anyone but Uniden produce these devices or is it essentially a proprietary thing?

- I have added just a little bit of info and a link to Uniden. I know that there are other brands that use the 2.4GHz range here in Australia. I have not heard of WDCT but I would think it was the same thing but just had the 'E' droped from the acronym? Fosnez 19:48, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

- I know there are plenty of 2.4GHz phones, but most use proprietary standards. My impression was that WDCT was one of them, but it might not be which is also why I'm curious about this. Uniden don't seem to do much to promote it as being "open" but they might just assume everyone knows that... --Squiggleslash 21:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

- Ok, I managed to confuse myself. I'm not seeing any Uniden stuff advertised as this. They do keep showing up in my Amazon searches whenever I search for DECT because they have a whole range of models prefix'd DCT. So ignore me.
- However... I just found Worldwide_Digital_Cordless_Telecommunications and I'm wondering if it's referring to the same thing. Again, it's DECT, relocated to the 2400MHz ISM band. Supposedly it was invented by Siemens. --Squiggleslash 23:47, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
