White Van Abductions in Sri Lanka refer to white Van often without number plate which are a symbol of terror and over 16000 people have disappearanced all across Sri Lanka without a trace.

Sri Lanka has a history of disapperences both during the Sri Lankan Civil War.Commissions have documented how thousands of people have kidnapped by Armed men been treated by the state as a legitimate means during the Civil War and disappeared without a trace.[1]The victims largely belong to the minority Tamil community earlier Sinhala youths disappered during the War against the JVP insurgency .[2]
