Classes are held for grades grades six through eight.
It was founded in 1962 as part of the Montgomery County Public School system as a junior high. It was renovated in 1993. Coinciding with a nationwide trend in the United States in the 1990s, White Oak switched to a block class schedule in 1995.Students who attend White Oak Middle school attend Springbrook, Paint Branch or Blake High schools as part of the northeast consortium.
