[edit] Waumbeck not in Whitefield

Thanks for the fine additions, Hugh_Manatee, but the Waumbeck Hotel and cottages were (and cottages still are) in Jefferson, not Whitefield. The postcard image appears to be looking northwest along the Meadows Road (Rt 115A) toward Mt Starr King. What we now call U.S. Highway 2 runs past the front of the cottages.
