Not really that much detail on this article - is it really worthy of Wikipedia? Doesn't IMDB do this sort of thing a lot better? Zaphod Beeblebrox 11:24, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Uhmmm, it's short, basic info... I guess add the IMDB link, though... (Possibly on a sort of general basis, concerning movies?

Just because something is short doesn't mean it shouldn't be on a Wikipedia. It should be on Wikipedia, but it just needs more information. Cbrown1023

[edit] Sequel

Why was the infomation for the sequel deleted? I can't see how it's not relevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Will Smithlol (talkcontribs) 09:03, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Racism

Does anyone want to add in anything about the potential offensiveness of this? Perhaps the fact that the main characters painted themselves white, in a way mocking how 'white people' look and dress. Zchris87v 20:06, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Offensiveness doesn't work that way. Things like this are only offensive when they're attacking minority groups. ;) 193.190.253.160 21:03, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

As a white person, I found it offensive. If somebody dresses up as a white person and starts speaking in a "Valley" accent to mock white people it is racist. Do you remember white people dressing up as "Black face" in the early 1900s? I found that racist and just as offensive as dressing up as white people and acting how we are stereotypical portrayed. You know not all white women are rich and drive around in BMWs and talking on their cell phones saying "Like OMG" at the end of every sentence and carrying around a little rat sized dog in their purse. Not all white women are like Paris Hilton or like that airhead in "Legally blonde". User:Daniel_Chiswick 26 March, 2007

Right. Too bad the two people they're impersonating in the movie are stereotypical white girls. 12.107.247.237 02:47, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't offended. It didn't even occur to me this film might offend until I read your comment. That may simply be because I don't come from "The Valley" :) That said, I don't think the film was necessarily claiming that white folks live all live the high society lifestyle. After all, agent Jake Harper didn't seem to fit that stereotype (O.K., so there was one character that didn't) :) Thux2828 18:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't think a section about racism needs to be added, what needs to be added is a "Controversy" section that explains when the movie was released many people felt that it exhibited a double standard set forth by society where it's okay for black people to mock whites but not the other way around. Just imagine if the movie had been called "Black Chicks" and had two whites guys dressing up as black girls and acting "gangsta", there would have been an uproar. So, that's definitely a double standard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.79.95.148 (talk) 12:37, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Why would they? There's already countless movies in which jokes revolve around white people trying to act more "black". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.213.163.145 (talk) 22:07, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Dude, that movie would be GREAT. I'm calling Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler, we need to get this thang made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 00:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

To be offended by this film is one thing. I personally dont think a movie like this is appropriate for race relations and the double standards out there. However, none of you seem to remember the fact that years before, the Waynes Brothers came up with "Dont be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood". And its an extreme parody on the Black stereotypes far beyond the level of white chicks . I only mentioned that to show that despite the real double standards among minorities out there, these guys may not be as unbalanced as some of you think.

Right, but that's one thing. Today you are allowed to make fun of your own race, and crossing the lines seems to be where the problems come in. Sort of like rap music and the profanity involved there. As for the comment about "they are stereotypical white girls", if I were to dress up as a black person and carry a gun around yelling stuff and wearing a bandana, is that okay because I am a stereotype?
