The Burchell's Coucal is also referred to as the 'Rain Bird' in South Africa. Folklore says that it calls the rain. The call is a long, liquid series of 'coos' which sounds a little like water being poured out of a bottle. The bird is more often heard than seen. 62.25.109.196 14:54, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
