"Whenever You Need Somebody" is a pop-dance song originally performed by Rick Astley. It is the second single in Europe and the title track from Astley's multi-million selling debut album Whenever You Need Somebody, which was written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman.
It was a successful European hit, following the pattern of the artist previous smash single "Never Gonna Give You Up". It was never released as a single in the U.S.
