"When I Grow Up" is the first single to be taken from the Pussycat Dolls upcoming second studio album Doll Domination.

The song samples the main riff of The Yardbirds song "He's Always There" from their 1966 studio album Roger The Engineer.
"When I Grow Up" was digitally released on May 27 on Amazon,[3] and iTunes.
The Pussycat Dolls performed the song for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 20,[4] and again at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards on June 1.
It is the first single since the departure of Carmit Bachar, who had served the longest time with the Dolls.

In a recent interview, the Pussycat Dolls stated that they would be shooting a music video for "When I Grow Up" after the MTV Movie Awards. The video was shot by Joseph Kahn, who has previously worked with Britney Spears. Spears will make a cameo appearance in the video[5].
The music video will premiere on the new MTV video show F'N MTV, which is hosted by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, on June 13, 2008.
A 26 second preview became avalible on Wednesday 11th June.

"When I Grow Up" made its debut in the lower regions of the Mediabase Pop Chart, and has since reached a peak of number forty-eight. On the Rhythmic chart, the song has reached number one-hundred and ninety-five so far.
After being released to iTunes on May 27, "When I Grow Up" has reached a peak of number eleven on the Top 100 songs chart and number seven on the Top 100 Pop songs chart in the U.S., as of June 5. "When I Grow Up" debuted at number seventy-six on the Billboard Hot 100, and number fifteen on Canadian Hot 100.
Downloads in the United States number 94,339, with a peak on the Hot Digital Songs at number fifteen (2nd week).
