[edit] Rationale of fair use for What I've Done, Minutes to Midnight and Linkin Park

This is a video sample from a commercial recording. Its inclusion here is claimed as fair use because:

  • It illustrates an educational article specifically about the song from which this sample was taken.
  • It illustrates specifically the features of the Music Video discussed in the article, What I've Done
  • It is of a much lower quality than the original recording.
  • It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted sample of comparable educational value.
  • It is believed that this sample will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original recording.
  • It is available to the public from the producer's official site (URL above)
  • It is used as promotional material, as the producer has used this video on sites such as YouTube and their website to promote the song

I believe that this use of the sample is in good faith, and that its inclusion greatly enhances the quality of the article What I've Done, without reducing the commercial value of the recording from which it was drawn. Adammw (talk) 11:24, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
