[edit] Overview
WFME-TV's weekday schedule consists of a repeating three-hour program block: Open Forum with Harold Camping (a video broadcast of Family Radio's flagship program), The Joy of Music, and Alameda Bible Fellowship. In the evening they have a national newscast from ANC News at 6:00 p.m. At 6:30 the station carries a public affairs show aimed at Chinese Americans. Weekend programming is more varied, with Bible studies, educational children's programs, and public affairs, in addition to Open Forum and Joy of Music.
Initially, in 1996, WFME-TV carried the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod-produced drama series This is the Life, local Baptist and Christian Reformed church services and a few national televangelists. In 2002, after Family Radio founder Harold Camping declared that "the church age was over", these outside ministries disappeared. This is the Life was dropped in 2007.
[edit] Digital TV
The digital channel of WFME-TV is multiplexed:
Digital channels
| Channel | Programming |
|---|---|
| 29.1 | Main WFME programming |
| 29.2 to 29.9 | Station ID slide with various multilingual audio services |
| 29.10 | Station ID slide with NOAA weather radio audio |
WFME-DT is one of the few stations that IDs with its digital channel number (29.1, etc) rather than its analog channel number (66.1, etc).
[edit] Post-analog shutdown
After the analog television shutdown and digital conversion, which is tentatively scheduled to take place on February 17, 2009[1], WFME-TV will remain on its current pre-transition channel number, 29. [2]
