[edit] Superpower - Brazil

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that you won't be able to add Brazil to the Potential Superpowers Section before discussing it in talk. It will be likely that there will be a vote as well. If you do this before everyone is happy with it, those that disagree will revert your edits. Why? Firstly, your edits are in what has become a controversial topic, if you add Brazil, other people will add Russia, Japan, United Kingdom. I know you stated that Brazil has 'potential', but that name will be changed soon into Emerging Superpower. Seeing as Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, we really shouldn't be dealing with the potentials. Hope you understand my Point of View, if you manage to put enough points towards Brazil's section in the Major power article, you may receive abundant support in any vote towards Brazil's inclusion in the Superpower article. [edit] Re: John Hewitt

I didn't remove the {{hangon}} tag altogether; I simply moved it to the article's main page from its talk page. That tag belongs on the article page- I frequently see hangon tags placed on talk pages of articles that were already deleted, but the talk page still exists because the hangon tag was placed there. By putting it directly underneath the speedy deletion tag, an administrator can very clearly see that someone objects to the speedy deletion proposal. -- Kicking222 00:10, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I honestly can't understand why someone would not consider this person notable. I mean, his notability is asserted right in the first sentence! -- Kicking222 00:15, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
First off, don't worry about taking up my time- it's not like I'm doing anything particularly vital (browsing the net + waiting for Simpsons to start does not = important). Fortunately, an administrator just decided that the article was sufficiently notable, so it looks like we're in the clear! -- Kicking222 00:27, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Elevador Lacerda.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Elevador Lacerda.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 05:25, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Liberty tax logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Liberty tax logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edit comments

Hi, the comment you left on this edit [1] was a bit much and even offensive. The policy of no personal attacks applies to vandals as well, try to remain civil. A comment such as "Reverting vandalism" is more then adequate along with a kind warning on the users talk page. Russeasby (talk) 17:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
