Westview School (Winnipeg)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Westview School is part of River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It officially opened on November 6, 1953, and had 12 rooms, nine teachers and the principal, C.S. Quelch, known worldwide for his extensive collection of butterflies, now housed at the Transcona Historical Museum.
By 1957, four additional classrooms and a large assembly room were added to the west wing. Over the years, greater accommodation became necessary and there appeared a gymnasium, music room, audio-visual room and utility room.
