Westneddersassisch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Westneddersassisch (Western Lower Saxon) is a subdialect of Northern Low Saxon. It is limited to Germany. Its difference to East Frisian Low Saxon, which is spoken in the Frisian parts of Low Saxony, is the lack of a Frisian substrate. Westneddersassisch is in the city of Bremen as Breemsch (Bremian), which is the only capital where Westneddersassisch is spoken. Most other speakers of Westneddersassisch speak the so-called Ollnborger Platt (around the city of Oldenburg). The Westphalian urbanity of Minden also belongs to the area, where Westneddersassisch is spoken traditionally.
