Western United Tigers

The Western United Tigers is a South Australian sporting team created in the 1970s when teams Penong and Charra merged.
Based at Penong, 72 kilometres west of Ceduna, the Tigers are one of four teams in the Far West Football League - alongside the Blues, Koonibba and Thevenard.
On August 26, 2006, they won their fourth straight A Grade football premiership with a dominant win over the Koonibba Roosters at the Ceduna Oval.
On the same afternoon their A Grade netball team also won another title.
On the previous Saturday night cousins Todd and Shellee Warmington won the respective awards for the best players in the football and netball leagues.
Todd Warmington, best afield in the Grand Final, scored a record breaking win in the Mail Medal. He polled in all but one game he played for the season. He kicked two goals in the Grand Final.
In 2006 the A Grade football side was coached by Craig Irvine.
