Western International School of Shanghai

The Western International School of Shanghai is an international school located in Puxi, Shanghai.

WISS was granted approval by the Ministry of Education in Beijing in 2004 and opened its doors on September 6, 2006. The school campus is spread across a 16 acre site which has been designed by Weimar Architects of the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany.

The first building was completed in August, 2006 and currently houses students up to Grade 5. Phase two of construction, is the development of the Middle and High School buildings and additional facilities such as the library, aquatic center, science building, cafeteria, creative arts rooms and specialised sports facilities will be completed over the next 18 months.
