Supposedly(as the story goes), Norman J. Pattiz was driving through L.A. one fine day and noticed that there wasn't a radio network that HE could tailor to HIS tastes(just the Big Four at that time: NBC, ABC, CBS, and Mutual), so when he heard that Mutual(or its remnants) was up for sale, he jumped at the chance and bought it, then moved it to a temporary home somewhere in L.A.'s Westwood area...

Another story says that he was living in Westwood at the time he bought up Mutual, so he figured on a unique name:Westwood One! ...who knows???...Baldwin91006 02:28, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

The current one is now being used, but how about showing the original one used at the time of the takeover of the remnants of the Mutual Broadcasting System(where the "M" is atop the "W", as in "Mutual Broadcasting System/Westwood One Radio Networks")...Michaela92399 02:00, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
