[edit] Move

Moved to "West End of London" to match East End of London -- The Anome

Does anyone actually call it that? Google has hardly any hits for that, compared to "London's West End" and "West End" London. Shouldn't we call it "West End (London)"? Kallog 22:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] West of Park Lane

Does anyone really consider the areas west of Park Lane to be in the West End? I live in Bayswater and definitely wouldn't consider it so? Gerry Lynch 14:22, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

It's a largely historical usage. Bayswater was definitely in the West End in the 19th century. CalJW 03:10, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bloomsbury?

I'm not sure half the areas listed here are in the West End by any common definition. Bloomsbury? Holborn? Marylebone? I live in Bloomsbury and I really don't think I live in the West End Lfh 12:54, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Can a map be added here? Jikbusai 16:30, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Street definition of West End

I'm listening to West End Girls, from the Pet Shop Boys (it's over now, now it's Tom Waits); and figured I could come on here to find out the street definition of West End, and didn't find it. I'm sure the loyalists will be bothered by the idea of saying something potentially negative in the article, but I think we need to disregard these feelings. I assume West End Girls means theater-district prostitutes, but it could in my mind also mean rich literati, the sociopathic kids of the rich literati, girls who party where the dance clubs are, the secret lives of repressed financial district girls, etc. A) May I have the answer, and B) should the international reputation, whatever it is, of West End be integrated, even in one line, into the article?--Mrcolj 14:36, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

In such cases, it's best to look up the actual song title on Wikipedia, which gives the answer to your question: West End Girls. Softlavender (talk) 01:52, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
