Wendy Wright

Wendy Alane Wright (born Sept 6, 1966 in Buffalo, New York) is a multi-racial actress and singer. Daughter of author W.D. Wright (Crisis Of The Black Intellecutual, Racism Matters.) Wendy is married to James T. Smith whose daughter Taryn Smith is the great, great, great granddaughter of American abolitionist John Brown.

Wendy starred in the ABC television series Fat March in 2007.

Wendy Alane Wright was lead singer of the Dutch pop group Def La Desh And The Fresh Witness from 1990-1994. They had two top 40 European Hits. Her vocals also appear in numerous Verizon commercials, and she has sung back up for Johhny Lang, Billie Myers, Wayne Brady, Solomon Burke, Jeff Trachta, Philip Michael Thomas, Tony Scott and Candy Dulfer.

Wendy is also the author of the book “An Ordinary Girl’s Dialogue With God; Contrary Action and has released two cds “As I Am” and “Real Love.”
