WellChild (registered charity number 289600) is the only charity to care for the individual needs of every child, whatever their condition. WellChild provides a unique package of care and support to sick children and their families including:

WellChild Children's Nurses provide practical support for sick children living at home. WellChild Helpline provides confidential information and advice about children's health - telephone 0808 801 0330, text 0778 147 2599 or email helpline@wellchild.org.uk. WellChild Children's Health Online Website (www.childrenshealth.org.uk) provides accessible, age-appropriate information and support for children and adults.

WellChild has been leading research into childhood illnesses from cancer to diabetes, premature birth to autism at hospitals across the UK since 1977. We have achieved significant success in a number of fields including establishing the world’s first Pain Research Centre; the UK’s first Children’s Genetic Epidemiology Research Centre; pioneering living related liver transplants; ground breaking results in kidney disease and rare disorders. We are the fourth largest charitable investor in paediatric research (according to AMRC figures 1996 - 2003).

2007 marks WellChild's 30th anniversary.
