[edit] merger with Suburbs of Wellington

seems a bit superfluous to have this article with a listing of Wellington suburbs and a separate article that says the same thing; I think to make the topic less fractured, the best thing to do is just bring the suburb map across to this article. Kripto 03:33, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fixing Wellington article and Wellington City article

Two articles about Wellington City? a short one with the correct name and a long one with the short form, that is ambiguous? The legal geographic situation is that Wellington City exist as multiple areas of meshblocks and area units, and Wellington Region exists as an aggregate of 8 multiple T/A's. Wellington Suburb is newly proclaimed by Wellington City Council, and shouldn't offer any issues. Greater Wellington is an aggregate of 4 T/A's ( a community of common interest). I suggest that we have 4 articles, with each one appearing on th eWellington disambiguation page, but I imagine you will collectively prefer longer names: Wellington Region, New Zealand or something like that? please comment before this escalates too far. moza 16:50, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

there is no way in hell that tawa is a part of wellington city!

[edit] Map

Where did the suburb boundaries come from? I grew up in the eastern suburbs and most of what is labelled Melrose I would say is Kilbirnie or Lyall Bay. Also, Moa Point (as a suburb rather than a geographical feature) should go round the coast as far as the airport. --Helenalex 21:24, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

it's (a) a bit bewildering, (b) pointless, (c) imposing, in the sense of people who smoke at bus stops, not in the sense of Mt Rushmore, and (c) the kind of thing that looks like someone was paid a lot of money to do something unneccessary, yeah? Yeah. Then you won't be surprised to learn this is the work of the Wellington City Council. This is their official suburb map. Kripto 21:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
