Weight module

Let $V$ be a representation of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and assume that a Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{h}$ of $\mathfrak{g}$ is chosen. $V$ is called a weight module, if it is the direct sum of its weight spaces.
