[edit] Merge proposal discussion

For: (I am the original proposer of the merge). The TV series article info is already mostly in the main Weird Science article, and I feel there's little to be gained by making the information separate anyway. I'd assume that most people are interested in seeing one in the context of the other, and it's not like there is so much material that it needs splitting. Fourohfour 16:51, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Against: The article on the television show should be longer as it had a reasonably long run, has a somewhat interesting history of syndication, and is somewhat recent. I'll try to do some research and expand it later. -Drdisque 17:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Against As reasons above. Also, I might make a page about the single/song Weird Science by Oingo Boing, juts letting you know in advance so that the info doesn't clutter up this page about the movie. --Rachel Cakes 10:31, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Against For reasons already stated. Both articles need to be expanded though, and a song article isnt a bad idea either.SkaTroma 21:17, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
  • For. If the TV series were covered as well as it deserves to be, the combination still would not be unwieldy. —Tamfang 00:26, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] possible copyvio

At least some of this is ripped right from the IMDB entry, particularly the trivia bit about Kelly leBrock almost turning down the role. I'm not really a film guy though, so i don't really know how IMDB and copyright work. Anyone wanna check it out? Murderbike 06:13, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Movie poster for Weird Science (1985).jpg

Image:Movie poster for Weird Science (1985).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
