Talk:Weights

There is so much wrong information in this wall of text that it is simply staggering. Someone with proper knowledge of exercise should rewrite it.217.196.49.201 18:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Who wrote this???
" While there is debate over whether weight machines or free weights are better, machine weights are generally considered safer. On a machine you can lift more outright weight, working the main muscle (prime mover) harder, but with free weights you also work the smaller supporting synergist and stabilizer muscles, which aids balance and perhaps burns more calories. "
The articles regarding training in wikipedia are really misinforming...
1.there is a greater risk of injury while using machines because they often don't fit every trainer and there is a bigger wear and tear on the joints 2.You don't lift weights to "burn calories"
"perhaps burns more calories." this is an encyclopedia , if your going to write something , better be informed about it , there is a lot of data regarding how many calories weight lifting burns , so it's not "perhaps" ----> this comment added by 88.154.55.101
- I've removed both paragraphs since they were entirely composed of original research and unverified claims. MrVibrating (talk) 18:09, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
