[edit] Purpose

Insert {{web colors}} at the bottom of each page in which standard colors are defined. These seventeen named colors are defined in the CSS specification; HTML 4.01 also defines the same set of named colors, with the exception of orange. For more info, see Web colors.

[edit] Usage

{{web colors}}

Do not use subst: with this template. It is used in a small number of pages, but should always appear in identical form.

This template takes one parameter: the usage {{web colors|colour}} can be used for pages where the "colour" spelling is standard. If not used, the "color" spelling is default.

Gray redirects to grey. If you want to add a new section at ==Web color== to emphasise the distinstion this would probably be a good idea. --Phil | Talk 15:12, May 10, 2005 (UTC)
…which I have now done. HTH HAND --Phil | Talk 15:42, May 10, 2005 (UTC)

I have reverted Nihiltres as per User talk:Nihiltres#Template:Web colours. Jimp 23:32, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Order of shades of black

I think that for aesthetic purposes, grey should come after silver, in order to maintain a certain order for the colors. Thank you! |SUBZ3R0| 00:02, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Well since no one said no - I said yes, done.danielfolsom 22:52, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
