Weatherbox

Weatherbox is an indie rock band from San Diego, California, led by ex-Mister Valentine & My American Heart member, Brian Warren. Other members of the band include George Pritzker (from Japandi), drummer, Cory Stier (ex-Pistolita), and bassist, Dave Silverman (ex-Pistolita).

In the past, the band has included bassist Ryan Hill, guitarist Lowell Heflin (from Lanterns and Panic In The Streets), drummer Justin Greene, drummer Marc Deriso (ex-Mister Valentine), guitarist/vocalist Gabe Rodriguez, and guitarist/vocalist Mike Longfield. Although Weatherbox is a full band, Warren's solo work is also referred to as, and has been released under the name of, Weatherbox.

Weatherbox is currently signed to Doghouse Records. They have released one EP called The Clearing. Weatherbox released their debut album American Art on May 8, 2007. American Art was recorded when the band consisted of Warren, Deriso, Hill and Longfield. They have also released an acoustic EP, called 4 Songs.

Weatherbox is the title of a song by the band Mission of Burma. It can be found originally on their album Vs.

The name was first used by Warren in one of the earliest Mister Valentine songs, entitled "Weatherbox Is Dead," long before Weatherbox, the band, ever existed.

when the weather of the world (political, musical, etc.) is 'stormy', the box has no choice but to stop accepting societal norms and transcend boundaries which we have been bred to believe exist.

transcend or stop thinking

to stop thinking is obviously not an option. it is suicide, you become a body buried in the ground or a mind buried beneath the tremendous cliches and sheer boredom which lead people to autonomous robot existences; cubicles, war, and music that is impossible to groove to!

MY REVOLT IS STRONG!

transcend and realize your place as a speck of a human on a speck of a planet in a speck of a galaxy. balance the BOX with the WEATHER that will always effect you. do what you feel and know is right. dismantle the ego; it is counter-productive! we will never be happy and free and loving while we are caught up in the bullshit game of impressing our peers! use the untapped resources of your brain, write the music that is evolutionary and revolutionary, be creative and in turn, be happy.
