[edit] Verification Requested

Sometime after WBFD was founded, they launched an FM station. In the 1970s and early 1980s (I can't speak for its initial history), the station had its own call letters and had a classical music format and was basically automated. In the 1980s, the FM station changed formats from classical to country and changed their call letters to WRAX.

The sale of WBFD/WRAX to WAYC AM/FM was brief and WBFD AM was sold to a former disc jockey who converted the station (at its new frequency and WAYC-AM's former frequency of 1600kHz) to a Christian format. Apparently, WBFD became WOOX at some point and eventually moved back to 1310kHz and reclaimed the WBFD call letters.

I believe that WBFD was part of the Mutual Broadcasting Network in its Top-40 era.

Can anyone verify that the FM station initially had the call letters "WBFD"? Can anyone recall the call letters to the classical FM station? Can anyone recall WHEN the FM station changed format from classical to country? Can anyone verify the above history of WBFD/WRAX?
