Wayne-Route 23 Transit Center is a New Jersey Transit park-and-ride station in Wayne, New Jersey along the Montclair-Boonton Line, also providing bus service to Newark and New York City[1]. It is located off of the southbound lanes of Route 23, near the West Belt Road Interchange, where Route 23, Interstate 80, and U.S. Route 46 meet, across from the Willowbrook Mall. The station opened in January, 2008[2] It has 1,000 parking spaces, a station platform along the Montclair-Boonton Line for train service to Newark and Hoboken with transfers to Manhattan, and bus platforms for bus service into Manhattan. New Jersey Transit intends for this combined rail and bus station to become an "interceptor station," that will help relieve the habitual congestion at the West Belt Road Interchange, where the three major highways meet. The Wayne Township bus garage located on the opposite side of Route 23.
