Talk:Wayne Bennett (rugby league)

[edit] Move to the Roosters

I don't like it any more than you do, but the article makes it pretty clear that he's gonna go. The page should reflect this until new information is brought into the light. The "player revolt" business is pretty obviously just media hype and isn't encyclopedic information. I did get the year wrong though, thanks for that.--Jeff79 06:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quotes

While Don't die with the music in you is the name of Wayne's book, I don't think he was the first to use that expression. The book contains several quotes that Bennett has taken from other famous speakers, and I think in it he attributes the title to one of those people. I'm sure a better example of a Bennett quote could be taken from the book.--Jeff79 23:37, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Record?

Is Bennett's tenure with the broncos a record for a coach in rugby league, or for that matter, either rugby code? If so, might be worth a mention.--Jeff79 (talk) 15:12, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Certainly within the NSWRL/ARL/NRL, Bennett is second to none in terms of games for one club (which is what I think you're getting at). According to this list though, he is marginally behind Tim Sheens in terms of total number of games coached. In terms of total seasons at one club, I don't have the resources to find out straight away unfortunately. mdmanser (talk) 15:16, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually was referring to time with one club. Might be a record in world rugby league. Not sure though.--Jeff79 (talk) 15:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
