Article policies

Please refrain from POV

Because I started this page and have continued to edit it over the past few months, it is sad to see that a person who obviously hated CFM and Wayman Mitchell has destroyed half of the article with bias and personal points of view. I will change this back to a readable text once again.

Nick.

[edit] The age of Mr. Mitchell upon entering the military

The article says he was born in 1933 and was stationed in Guam in 1948. That would put him at age 15 while in the military. I've heard he was born in 1929. Can someone clear up the confusion on this? Thanks.Jlujan69 01:47, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clarfications needed

Since Wikipedia is for the public and not only Christians and/or Potter's House members, I think it's necessary to cut down on the "Christian-ese", "Pentecostal-ese", and "Potter's House-ese" and instead use words and phrases understood by most people. Even if what's written is technically correct, it can give the impression of bias on the author's part. I say this as a member of the Potter's House under Pastor Wayman Mitchell. Otherwise, this is a good article and I believe it is basically fair.Jlujan69 05:24, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clarification of previous comment

I don't mean I'm a member of the church that Wayman Mitchell pastors, rather I'm a member of the fellowship itself.

[edit] Clarification of previous comment

I agree, I think the problem is that I am also part of the Potter's House church and use "Christian-ese", "Pentecostal-ese", and "Potter's House-ese". Perhaps we could go through each part section by section and try to make it as understandable as possible. I have recently linked many words to other articles in Wikipedia. I hope it wasn't overkill, but it clears up alot of misunderstood verbage. I have the first 2 chapters of "An open door" book readly to put up on a site and will have a link to it from this page. Where do you attend? I understand that this site must remain neutral, but am working on www.waymanmitchell.com which will have sermons, books, quotes, etc. if you have any contributions or ideas email me. Cheers. [edit] Mitchell's personality

Seems this article is going to be an overflow from the Potters House article covering the same issues, in particular Mitchell's personality. There can be no NPOV if these are considered to be claims from his devoted followers but other sources state differently even the opposite. And again, comparing Wayman Mitchell to Smith Wigglesworth is only a claim his devoted followers would make. No one outside of CFM would make that conclusion, not even members of other church groups. Where is the verifiable source this information comes from? I will suggest correct revisions to clean up this confusion as ti me permits. Perhaps a criticism section is in order to balance the article. Thanks. Darrenss 11:38, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation

Under standards laws copyright material must be authorised used (with permission from author or book company) and correct references stating it had been used with permission. Waymanmitchell.com a website run by Nick Sayers has scanned his books onto the website in order to quote them for this article (see above talk). Now the site has no endorsement from the potters house or Wayman Mitchell and the material says it is copyrighted, so it cannot be used as a reference because it is in violation of copyright laws. If the books can be found or purchased through Amazon or other retail outlets then it can be quoted but not the online version.Darrenss 20:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proper discussion required

Sapienz you need to discuss your issues before you continue to revert improved articles. As discussed www.waymanmitchell.com cannot be used at all as a source of reference for 1. It contains copyright violated material 2. The bio has no references themselves (anyone could have made it up 3. There are other well researched websites that contain more accurate and accepted information that can be used as a reference. This is about research and accuracy that can be proven by valid independant crossreferenced articles. 4. To claim Wayman is like "Smith Wigglesworth" needs a designated "claimee". Who said that and where is the comment quoted from. Much of these Potters House related articles were much info and little references. I'm trying to present the information that can be proven. Hope this explains it for you. Please leave a comment and stop vandelising the Potters House articles or I will report you.Darrenss 13:22, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

BTW I removed www.cfmsu.com because I wasn't sure what the reference was actually for. The references are supposed to support and validate the information that we present, that one didn't have much use.Darrenss 13:26, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removed external links

The links were removed as per discussion on Potter's House talk page under the heading: Nick Sayers - Banned user Potter's House, Sapienz and Special:Contributions - 218.214.37.212. Please feel free to discuss the issue but there are obvious problems with those links, that do not meet the criteria to be placed in any Potter's House related article. Thank you.Darrenss 03:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
