[edit] Moving to "Wavicle"
comment added whtn the article was located at Wavicles (note the plural)
I'm considering moving the content within this page to a new article "Wavicle", and then redirecting this page there. I can then also include other references to the term "wavicle" on the new page. I think it is better to have one page containing all of the different references, rather than having two pages which can make things confusing. Feedback is requested on this proposed action. --Amit 17:13, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good idea. Salsb 18:49, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Page may need disambiguation
I am no expert in physics, but it seems that there are two distinct usages of the term wavicle in physics. The first one is about the Huygens-Fresnel principle, and the second one is about quantum physics / wave-particle duality.
I therefore propose:
- Creating a new page "Wavicle (point source)" or less desirably "Wavicle (Huygens-Fresnel principle)", and moving the respective content there. This page will then have the quantum physics related content only, with a link at the top to the other page, as often seen on Wikipedia.
OR
- Converting this page into a disambiguation page, and moving its contents into two separate pages, viz. "Wavicle (point source)" or less desirably "Wavicle (Huygens-Fresnel principle)", and "Wavicle (quantum physics)" or less desirably "Wavicle (wave-particle duality)".
Comments are appreciated. --Amit 02:42, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead with the move. --Amit 02:45, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] REDIRECT
I redirected the entire article to wave-particle duality. Alternative is to nominate this mess for deletion. WP is not the place for original research, or to spread strange neologisms that no one actually uses. Creating yet more articles with this silly name is ... silly. linas 00:24, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
