Kuwait National Airlines known as Wataniya Airways is the third airline company in Kuwait that was established in 2005. It is supposed to commence operations in January 2009. The airline will provide a premium service with point to point connections from Kuwait to destinations across the Middle East, geared to the specific demands and needs of Kuwaiti nationals, a statement said. It will fly modern A320 aircraft with 26 Business Class seats and 96 Economy seats.

The airline was founded by prominent Kuwaiti corporations including Kipco and Global Investment House. The airline launched a public offering of 350 million shares in January 2006, the equivalent of 70% of its capital of KWD50 million (USD 188 million), and expects to list its shares on the Kuwait Stock Exchange by June 2008.
