[edit] Summary

Description

We stumbled across Wat Ounalom in the mistaken belief that it was the National Museum which had a colony of Cambodian freetail bats that departed every sunset.

This is probably the most important Wat (monastery temple) in Cambodian Buddhism as it houses the nation's religious administration as well as it's top monk. Wat Ounalom was built in 1443 to keep a hair from the Buddha's eyebrow.
