[edit] Route description
SR 92 begins at the junction with SR 9 in the Soper Hill area of Lake Stevens/Marysville and continues in a general east direction until the intersection with Machias Road/131st Avenue NE, where the highway veers to a northeast direction. It continues in a northeast direction until after the east intersection with Crooked Mile Road, where the route veers back into an easterly direction, continuing into the city of Granite Falls, and ending at the intersection with Granite Avenue. The portion within Granite Falls is called West Stanley Street.
[edit] History
Prior to the 1964 highway renumbering, State Route 92 was part of Secondary State Highway 15-A. SSH 15-A was designated in 1937, and had extended west along what is now SR 9 and SR 204.

Highway improvements over the years include a new stretch of highway that was constructed north of Crooked Mile Road, just east of Granite Falls to re-route traffic off Crooked Mile Road. In addition, traffic lights have been installed at the intersections with Jordan Road at the west entrance to Granite Falls and at Getchell Road in the Junction Center area. The City of Lake Stevens has also been discussing the possibility of installing traffic lights or roundabouts at a couple of major intersections along its northern border.
[edit] Major intersections
The entire route is in Snohomish County.
