Washford is a small village on the River Washford in the civil parish of Old Cleeve which is part of the West Somerset district of the county of Somerset. It is situated outside the boundaries of the Exmoor National Park.
Washford has a population size of 651 and 239 homes. The average house price has been estimated at £241, 887(2006).[citation needed]
It has a railway station on the preserved West Somerset Railway and is the site of Cleeve Abbey.
Washford is also the site of a high-powered medium wave transmitter site that transmits BBC Radio Wales, talkSPORT and Virgin Radio.
