[edit] History
Wasapi was founded in 2004 by Larry Herb. At launch the website took a creative approach to its navigation, using a image map visitors would select a make believe city name to visit a section of the website. The website eventually evolved into a more traditional type of gaming website that focused exclusively on the Nintendo wii and the Nintendo DS Platforms.
[edit] Name and logo
The name Wasapi was taken from a class project based on a make believe island from the founder's 6th grade social science class. The red and black that was used in the flag portion of the logo signified sophistication and excitement. The flag was used for a logo to signify an online community celebrating the latest in interactive entertainment.
