In the morning, there are exciting plans for a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the American Museum of Natural History.
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to discussing meta:Wikimedia New York City issues (see the last meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

[edit] Category:Mexican-American Families
Hi, just to let you know I have transferred this request to Categories for discussion which is more appropriate place for renaming of categories. It indicates 2 day turn round on the page for speedy renames. Keith D (talk) 22:38, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Request for comment on Category Redirect template
Because you are a member of WikiProject Categories, your input is invited on some proposed changes to the design of the {{Category redirect}} template. Please feel free to view the proposals and comment on the template talk page. --Russ (talk) 21:57, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New mailing list

[edit] Category renames
I have removed your move request templates from both Category talk:American politicians by ethnicity and Category talk:American writers by ethnicity. In order to move a category, you have to follow the procedure outlined at WP:CfR. Thanks. JPG-GR (talk) 21:31, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, and have salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).
Well also make preparations for our exciting Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, a free content photography contest for Columbia University students planned for Friday March 28 (about 2 weeks after our meeting).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
You're also invited to subscribe to the public Wikimedia New York City mailing list, which is a great way to receive timely updates.

[edit] Best regards
So very glad to have you back and at your old ways again. I almost missed having to constantly revert questionable edits of yours and type until I turned blue in the fingers about how controlling and "my way or the highway" you are. Welcome back, friend, and have at the astrology pages. I'm through with them and I'm through with you. Samuel Grant (talk) 13:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Related categories
Hey there, Just wanted to let you know that I removed the circular parent cats from Category:Belarusian-American Jews and Category:Russian-American Jews, since neither is properly a sub-category of the other -- much less both of one another. (oy veh) There is another option, which is horizontal linkage as related categories. I'm not sure that I consider them more closely related to one another than say, Russian & Ukrainian or Ukrainian & Belarusian. Then again, perhaps they should all be linked to one another horizontally. Anyways, if you want to link them, I created an easy-to-use template that I use all the time for this purpose, called Template:CatRel, which you might like to make use of.
