[edit] Misidentified picture

This animal in the recently posted picture is clearly not a Washington Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus washingtoni) as stated in the summary. The tail is much too long, the face is the wrong shape and, most obviously, it is striped. Washington Ground Squirrels have light spots. The animal in the picture is one of the many species of chipmunks found in Western N America. I have removed it. --Aranae 15:49, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Whoops!

I couple of books I have depicted this as the correct definition. Guess not. Thanks.

On the basis of what characters? --Aranae 17:12, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
