[edit] Story
Waris is a tragedy underlining the changing currents in Pakistani society. The drama revolves around a feudal lord Chaudhry Hashmet Ali Khan and his struggle to keep hold on to his power, and his land which is being bought by the government to construct a Dam in the area. The story is well written and follows a format of socratic tragedy, in which a person of nobel stature suffers in life - broadning the scope of tragedy in Urdu language.
