[edit] AHL.
Settle down. If you look at many featured articles, good articles, and A-class articles, few if any of those have lists such as these. SM64 was brought to the Featured article review over having a list of levels. - A Link to the Past (talk) 05:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you wanted to improve it, you wouldn't include a weapons guide. - A Link to the Past (talk) 19:44, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Again, this is a game guide. Game guides do not belong on Wikipedia. And what do you mean? "Some precedence"? An article was almost removed from the FA because of a list of levels. Why are a list of levels less acceptable than a list of weapons? And the presence of "game guide lists" for other articles does not turn into "this article gets a list too!". - A Link to the Past (talk) 18:48, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- If it were true that the presence of similar content allows that content everywhere on Wikipedia, then it would also be true that vandalism is allowed, since there are probably hundreds of thousands of articles that have vandalism. - A Link to the Past (talk) 21:24, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you honestly believe what you say, bring it up at WT:VG. - A Link to the Past (talk) 00:25, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- The fact that there's "no consensus" of what a guide is does not mean "this isn't a guide". Why is an item list relevant to someone who hasn't played the game? - A Link to the Past (talk) 18:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Wonderful to know that you still won't answer my question. Why is an item list relevant to someone who hasn't played the game? - A Link to the Past (talk) 02:09, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blah
Hi there,
i located you as the author of the text on the origin of the word Blah, back in december 2006, which says « As of 1913, Webster's Dictionary had not listed this word. It appeared roughly between 1915-1920, meaning "idle, meaningless talk". » We could use a source cited here. Then, « Collier's utilizes the term "blah blah" to label a tedious length speech on a subject. », same concern: do you happen to know in which issue of Collier's it appeared? Do you remember where you got your data? 'cause "inquiring minds wanna know".
You may answer here, i'll be checking back. TIA, --Jerome Potts (talk) 03:25, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, you're pretty lucky I saw this in any reasonable amount of time.. I haven't been on Wikipedia in a very long time.. guess I heard my name eh.
- This will put you on the trail, which I feel is legitimate.. I thought I placed sources then.. at any rate, please do with this info as you will.
- Addressing your queries as points:
- 1. a) Not appearing in Webster's as of 1913 - 1913 edition searchable here - http://machaut.uchicago.edu/
- b) Appearing around 1915-1920 - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/blah (says based on Random House Unabridged Dictionary 2006)
- 2. Collier's 1922 - "Then a special announcer began a long debate with himself which was mostly blah blah." - see http://www.takeourword.com/Issue034.html ("The Institute for Etymological Research and Education")
-
- Yay, thanks! --Jerome Potts (talk) 00:51, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
