Talk:Wanda Toscanini
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I don't understand this sentence:
- Following Horowitz's death in 1989, Wanda purchased the couple's home "Pinci's Acres" in Ashfield, Massachusetts, and stocked it with American antiques and Horowitz memorabilia.
How is it that she purchased the house after his death? Did they previously rent it? In what sense was it previously "the couple's home"??? -- Viajero 15:51, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I suppose so. I forgot to mention the source, which is http://web.telia.com/~u85420275/trivia.htm. — Pladask 19:34, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, no, wait. I misunderstood the whole thing. Vladimir obviously never lived there, as it says "1990–1998". — Pladask 19:36, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)

- Ok. But with all respect, but do you really think this individual rates an encyclopedia entry? Simply being the wife or child of a famous person is not really enough. Again, it is no slight against her; quite possibly she was a wonderful individual, but I don't know of any accomplishments of hers that suggest that she was more than that. If she hadn't been married to Horowitz, what is the probability we would have an entry for her? I am all for creating stubs, but there should at least be a real possibility that the stub could grow to something more. I suggest we merge this information in the Horowitz article and redirect it there. -- Viajero 20:16, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Personally, I do think so, especially concidering that she's the child and _also_ the wife of a famous person (fortunately not the same famous person :-) ). Further, I do think the stub can grow into something more than this. I've seen Horowitz videos with interviews, and she seems to have been quite an interesting character. Anyway, IMHO, the current version justifies a Wikipedia entrance. — Pladask 14:47, Apr 9, 2005 (UTC)

- Wanda was an extraordinary character. This "battle-ax," as she was called, ruled Horowitz (and usually to his benefit) for most of his life. You can catch a glimpse of her in one of Woody Allen's films, in a cocktail party scene. Both she and Horowitz were good friends of Woody and Mia. WK has articles on virtually everybody....from Jenna Bush to Donald Trump, Jr.. Wanda clearly rates something in the WP Universe. 66.108.4.183 15:14, 21 July 2006 (UTC) Nash's Companion
