why is it not mentioned that her escape from France was made possible by the efforts of Varian Fry? - (unsigned)

[edit] Photo removal
This is a free encyclopedia. We are not exploiting her estate to use it in a benign fashion. It is fitting to have a photo of the grand artist. She passed away nearly a century ago. Can we not just let the issue sit, until a challenge arises? Dogru144 02:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion of an unsupported/uncredited/unreferenced opinion
The empasized phrase in the sentence below was removed as a statement of personal opinion (as well as for being clumsily expressed):
- "They have largely fallen out of fashion in the past four decades, and have done much to harm the modern appreciation of Landowska's recordings."
It may be so that Landowska's use of such instruments has had an adverse impact nj contemporary appreciation of her recordings - but no source for this is cited, no quote from a standard authority or standard work is given. As to expression, it wouldn't be the modern harpsichords themseleves that did the harm, it would be her use of them in the recordings. JTGILLICK (talk) 05:56, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
