Walter Scammel was a medieval Bishop of Salisbury.

He was archdeacon of Berkshire in the diocese of Salisbury, treasurer of that diocese, and finally Dean of Salisbury. He was elected to the deanery on September 9, 1271.[1]
He was elected bishop about July 12, 1284 and consecrated on October 22, 1284.[2] He was enthroned at Salisbury Cathedral on January 4, 1285. He died between September 20 and September 25 1286.[3]
