Walter P Moore Engineers and Consultants, based in Houston, Texas, is one of the preeminent structural engineering companies in the United States. The firm also provides significant services in the structural diagnostics, civil engineering, transportation engineering, parking consulting and traffic engineering fields. The firm is best known for its work on sports stadiums and arenas.

Walter P Moore and Associates, Inc. was established in 1931 by Walter P. Moore Sr. using the proceeds from the sale of a Stutz Bearkat. Walter P. Moore, Jr. began working with his father in the early 1960's and took over as President when Mr. Moore, Sr. retired in the early 1980's. Walter Moore, Jr. moved to the position of Chairman of the Board in 1993 in order to teach at Texas A&M University. At this time Ray Messer took over as President of the Firm.

Walter P Moore incorporated in 1966 and is currently a privately held corporation. Currently, ownership is well distributed among full time employees, primarily limited to engineering staff but including other key staff members. Walter P Moore is headquartered in Houston, where approximately 150 employees are located. Satellite offices are located in Austin, Dallas, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The firm has approximately 400 total employees.

Walter P Moore has a strong culture of employee satisfaction, and was ranked No. 1 in Structural Engineer's 2005, 2006, and 2007 "Best Places to Work." Previously, the firm was ranked No. 2 in 2004, and No 3 in 2003. Houston Business Journal named Walter P. Moore among the “Best Places to Work,” from 2000 to 2005.

Walter P Moore has won numerous national design awards, winning the American Institute of Steel Construction Engineering Award of Excellence four times, the National Council of Structural Engineers Association Outstanding Project Award twice and Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Engineering Award of Excellence twice.
