Walter Gage

Walter Harry Gage (1905–1978) was a Canadian professor and academic administrator.
He was with the University of British Columbia for fifty years. He graduated with a B.A. in 1925, an MA in 1926, taught mathematics at Victoria College (1927-1933) and was registrar (1929-1933), taught mathematics (1933-1943), was Dean of Administrative and Inter-Faculty Affairs and Dean of Inter-Faculty and Student Affairs (1948), and was President (1969-1975). He died in 1978.
Walter Gage Residence at the University of British Columbia is named for him.
In 1971, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.
