Walter Bettridge (born in Oakthorpe) was an English footballer who played for Burton United and Chelsea. He was a lightweight right back who was fearless in stopping forwards [1].

Walter Bettridge had played for Burton United but by 1915 he was playing for Chelsea. [2]. He was a member of the Chelsea side that reached the FA Cup in 1915. He played in a total of 255 games for Chelsea (including FA Cup appearances).[3] .
