Began his kickboxing career on April 11, 1980 with a 29 second knockout over Gerhard Maric in Frankfurt, Germany. Relocated in Florida in the United States after posting a 16-1 (16 knockouts) record.
McGee's U.S. tour was unsuccessful. He was knocked out in 1 round by Sherman Bergman.
On January 1, 1986, McGee was knocked out in 1 round by Adi Ehrhardt at Cologne, Germany and retired from the ring.
