Jenny Agutter

Curious to know of your sources for your recent changes to the Private Life of Jenny Agutter

Chusan01 20:13 UTC 25 June 2006

The pregnancy came before the marriage. It's easy to verify by comparing the dates. As for not living with a man before her marriage, this claim is made on her BBC profile. WalterMitty 22:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Wasn't disputing your info and dates - rather your phraseology. She was appearing in (not just attending) the Bath Arts Festival where she met her future husband to be (see her interview with the London Evening Standard on 12 Jan 2004 to confirm) so could you change that revision back please. If you send me your email I'll send you a copy of the article. Thanks

Oldham categories at Cfd

The question of whether 'Oldham' cats should be renamed to 'Metropoloitan Borough of Oldham' has been taken to CfD, see Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_June_9#Oldham. As far as I can tell, this renaming proposal would apply to Wigan, Stockport and all other metropolitan boroughs - UK-wide - that share a name with a town. Your contributions would be welcome. Royton vandalism

Your comments at the Oldham cfd were much appreciated. I was wondering if you could help me protect Royton from vandalism by Jhamez84. He keeps removing facts backed up by citations (such as that Royton is in the County Palatine of Lancaster and that Jack Wild has an oscar nomination. Any help would be appreciated. 88.104.88.173 17:44, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

And you are?

I'm sorry, but you are... an admin? I'm not sure what policies you're basing your decisions on, and you're adding a category which is incorrect, and adding a distance to a town which is against the UK settlement introduction guidelines.

User 88.104 is actually a chronic troll, sock puppeteer, and several times banned user, who operates on this article to merely spoil it. Jhamez84 19:27, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I must apologise for my abruptness yesterday - I was having a rather bad day! This user in question has used unsavoury tactics in the past (I have a large document of evidence), and I was most alarmed by his and your own involvement - sorry!
It seems the article has settled, which is great. I trust I didn't undermine your attempts at mediation, though I have asked a number of users to watch this IP range and the article. You stated you were interested in some of the guidelines and policies; still interested? Jhamez84 23:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hunters.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hunters.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 18:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the note about the "century averages" being unverifiable. I was (and still am) more concerned to get that article toned down, rather at looking at refs in the first instance bigpad (talk) 00:19, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Stephen Hendry

Hi, While your points about Hendry's wins are valid, I'm sure, perhaps you want to be a little more careful with your edit summaries as it looks as if you have it in for him and this might encourage people to roll back valid edits on the basis that your are not impartial. I will reinstate the blue ball shot and add a "fact" tag until I have found the reference. I've never heard anyone doubt that he pioneered that shot, however. bigpad (talk) 13:32, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi WalterMitty. Please don't remove valid sources from articles. I see you are discussing this issue on the article's talk page. That's appropriate, thank you. But removing sources from the article is not a good idea. Nor is edit warring to ensure that your version of the article is maintained. Please don't continue to do that. Thanks, Gwernol 16:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Established editors have no more right edit articles than new editors and vice versa. Removing personal opinions is fine, removing proper sources is definitely not okay. I did read those sources and your characterization of them is incorrect. They are not simply "players' opinions" - they are published information. If you don't like that, you need to make your case on the talk page. Continued edit warring is not appropriate. And characterizing my edits as vandalism is inappropriate on multiple counts. Please don't do that again. Gwernol 16:33, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Gwernol 16:34, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Since you have decided to continue to use IP addresses to evade your block, I have extended it to 1 week. If you continue to evade your block using IP addresses, I will continue to extend it. Gwernol 21:22, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Extended to 1 month, due to continued block evasion. Gwernol 22:29, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
6 months. Gwernol 22:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

WalterMitty: I would like to contact you via e-mail to discuss this further, but you don't have e-mail enabled and can't change that due to the block. Perhaps you could e-mail me? Sunray (talk) 00:44, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
