[edit] Town features
There is no mention of major features such as the Lake George area, the protected forest lands, the farmlands, and common cultural sites known to almost all "townies", like the general store as well as the effect of the history of the now defunct wool milling industry. [edit] 'Questionable proposal'
Whether or not the proposal is a good one, it's "factual information" that it has been made, and much time has been spent debating it at the School Committee and select board level. Why is it not notable that this town is considering regionalizing elementary ed? -- and as for the "cultural institutions", especially Lake George and defunct mills, go ahead and add 'em yourself. My guess is that no expert on Wales, Mass., has yet visited Wikipedia, so it's up to you :). That's the spirit of be bold.

I might like to start to edit the page for the town of Wales. It currently sounds like a computer printout from a census sheet. But, I don't believe we should go down the road of adding proposals, issues of current debate, wish lists, pet peaves, articles on upcoming town meetings, law suits, current news items or anything else of a controversial nature or of temporary interest.
I also don't want it to sound like a sappy sales pitch. Your wiki profile looks like you have a hobby of wiki edit for small towns. I would like to keep the format somewhat consistent with other towns, but want to convey the unique nature of this little piece of Americana I live in. If I describe Bob's store as the single market in town with a known personality where people come to chat as much as buy overpriced but handy access small products, do I get into a wiki war because you don't like the guy?
Eventually, I would like to have links or more likely short descriptions of the local businesses, many of which are unknown to most residents, and images to include a topo map, hunting zones, and some pics from Olde Homes Day.
And experts? I hope no experts visit this wiki entry. Like the town itself, this will just be a simple thing, nice, that people like.

- I've got nothing against Bob Marchand. He's a true card. If you look at my editing history, you'll see that when it comes to small towns, just about all my edits are in southern Central Mass. -- my slice of Americana, just like yours. Don't worry about an edit war from me -- if I were "one of those," I wouldn't have bothered with the talk page and would've reverted your erasure of the regionalization note. I assume good faith. I'd like to see what you do with this article.
